Air to Air Drone Work

Chase and in air cinematography / photography work using drones and aircraft for an aerial perspective to bring the viewer closer to the action.

A New Element of Complexity

Shooting aircraft chase scenes using drones adds heightened risk and need for planning to what is already a fairly specialized type of media production. Aerial Photography and Cinematography must consider the safety of those on the ground as well as plan for weather, conditions and air space to comply with FAA and local regulations.

Experience and Planning

We have 10 plus years of commercial drone experience working in many situations, air to air cinematography included. Communication is key when doing air to air work, we use clear comms radios and a two person team including pilot and visual observer to maintain spatial awareness during capture.

Two Types of Camera Drones

FPV drones have become extremely popular for aerial camera work. When doing air to air work we mix FPV with traditional UAV systems to accomplish markedly different types of images and increase the coverage for folks in the editing room. The wide image and closer proximity of FPV angles is balanced by the longer lens, slower moving and focused imagery of traditional drone systems.
